Injury prevention, rehabilitation and performance are the focus of our soccer rehab program. Our team ensures that soccer athletes can have a long, healthy, and fun career.
The highest ACL injury rate in all of sports is in girl’s soccer. And noncontact injuries are responsible for nearly three-quarters of anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injuries. Female athletes are at much greater risk for non-contact ACL injuries than their male counter parts. In fact, statistics show a rate of two- to eightfold greater. We focus our soccer program on improving the power and efficiency of the athlete during activities such as jumping and landing properly through enhancing mobility of the foot, ankle, and hip and improving strength when changing direction rapidly. Most ACL injuries in girl’s soccer occur during cutting or landing following a jump.
We teach athletes how to attain the best biomechanical advantage possible to prevent future injury. Then gradually train them to continue through cutting motions without optimal mechanics so they are ready to handle cutting, jumping, and hopping in any situation that may arise on the field.
